  • Underwriting
    • Achieves/exceeds planned rate change, renewal retention, accident year loss ratio and written premium goals.
    • Documents, analyzes and offers decisions with appropriate detail using Key Risk’s Risk Analysis Documentation (RAD) form, Client Relationship Management (CRM) application, pricing models and rate change calculation tools.
    • Takes initiative to recommend potential improvements in underwriting principles, techniques or appetite when they become apparent.
    • Complies with insurance filings and regulatory requirements.


  • Marketing


    • Supports Key Risk’s Key Alliance Agency Management program via relationship development and agency visits to select agencies and clients as appropriate to write and retain profitable business.
    • Demonstrates and implements Key Risk’s Products and Services.
    • Establishes a knowledge base of agency needs, staff, target markets, and contracted insurers.   Documents agency visits in accordance with established corporate procedures.
    • Performs agency evaluations and establishes agency goals within required time frames and expectations defined by Regional Director.
    • Participates effectively in new and renewal team sales activities and Client Service Management (CSM) meetings to obtain and retain profitable business.
    • Conducts business in a professional, punctual and well-prepared manner that promotes Key Risk appropriately in meetings and public forums.



  • Three to five years of workers compensation underwriting experience with the full array of industrial classes, deductibles and dividend plans as well as an understanding of loss development and the ability to objectively assess workplace hazards, hazard controls and employer financials.
  • Three to five years of marketing experience working with independent agents.     Demonstrates profit-based selling and negotiation skills while developing productive business relationships with trusted partners. This qualification requires superior written and oral communication skills and the enthusiasm to project Key Risk’s value position, which is CSI (client service infusion).
  • Holds a BS/BA degree and CPCU, CIC or AIU designation preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
